Golf concierge services exist because the access market is fragmented, opaque, and surprisingly thin. A great concierge can produce a tee time at Pebble Beach two weeks out, a hotel suite during Masters week, a tee sheet across the Bandon Dunes courses arranged in the order that actually flows, and a reciprocal round at a UK members' club through a long-standing relationship with the secretary. A poor one will quote you retail rates with a markup and add nothing.

This hub is an honest assessment of the concierge market. We have used the major services (Haversham & Baker, Premier Golf, PerryGolf, Wide World of Golf, and a handful of regional specialists), we have run our own access experiments side-by-side, and we publish what we found. We also cover the limits of paid concierge: where money cannot move the needle at all (Augusta National outside the practice-round lottery, Cypress Point, Pine Valley) and where it routinely can (Pebble Beach peak season, St Andrews Old Course non-balloted rounds, Bandon Dunes Masters week).

Our coverage includes the practical mechanics: what a concierge actually does for the fee, how the markup is structured (most charge a percentage above wholesale; the better ones charge a flat per-round or per-trip planning fee), what guarantees they will and will not make, and how to evaluate a quote against booking direct.

ResortGolfer is not a concierge service. We do not sell tee times, take commission from operators, or receive referral fees. Our concierge reviews reflect editor experience and reader-reported outcomes; when we recommend a service, it is on the record of access actually delivered, not on the marketing relationship.

The best concierges sell relationships and judgment, not inventory.
Money is a useful tool in the access market, but it has a ceiling — and the ceiling is exactly where membership begins. No concierge moves that line.

Frequently Asked

About Concierge Tee Times

How much does a golf concierge cost?
The honest range is wide. Per-trip planning fees at the better services run $750–$2,500 for a domestic itinerary and $2,500–$7,500 for an international one. Percentage-markup services typically add 12–25 percent to wholesale rates, which can be invisible if the wholesale rate is genuinely below retail.
Can a concierge get me on Augusta National?
Not for a regular round. The practice-round lottery is the only realistic public-access path during Masters week, and concierge cannot improve those odds. Concierges can help with Masters lodging, transport, and badges; they cannot deliver a member-guest invitation.
Are concierges worth it for Pebble Beach?
Often yes during peak summer and December Crosby weeks, when direct booking is functionally closed and the concierge holds inventory through resort relationships. In shoulder season (late spring, early fall), direct booking is usually faster and cheaper.
How do I evaluate a concierge quote?
Ask for a line-item breakdown: room rate, green fees, caddie fees, transport, and the concierge fee shown separately. Compare each line against the resort's published rate. A reputable concierge will provide this transparently; one that resists is marking up wholesale and counting on opacity.
What lead time do concierges actually need?
Pebble Beach peak summer: 9–12 months. St Andrews Old Course guaranteed (non-ballot) rounds via authorized providers: 12–18 months. Bandon Dunes shoulder weekends: 3–6 months. Masters-week lodging and badges: 8–14 months. UK and Irish reciprocal rounds at major members' clubs: 4–6 months. Anyone promising late availability at full peak should be questioned closely about how.
Should I tip my concierge?
Not in the conventional sense — the planning fee and any built-in markup are the compensation. A short written thank-you after the trip, and a willingness to be a reference for the firm, is the appropriate gesture. If the concierge delivers materially above expectation, a holiday gift to the principal at the end of the year is welcomed but not expected.
